Professional Adviser

All our investment managers combine the roles of fund manager and of analyst, and have a Pan-European role for company analysis. All members of the team have input into our UK and European mandates.

Colin has over 30 years' investment experience and is widely regarded as one of the UK’s top stockpicking analysts. Prior to establishing SVM Asset Management in 1990, he held senior positions with three major financial institutions. He was Head of Investment of two UK life assurers, FS Assurance and Scottish Provident, before being Managing Director of Templeton International’s European operations. His sector responsibilities include UK banks, insurance and mining.

Donald is a qualified accountant with in excess of 20 years' investment and financial experience. Prior to co-founding SVM, he worked at Ivory & Sime, one of the largest independent fund management companies. His fund management responsibilities include investment trusts, derivatives/structured products and speciality finance.

Prior to co-founding SVM in 1990, Margaret previously worked as an investment manager at FS Investment Managers and was manager of its flagship UK fund, FS Balanced Growth Fund. Margaret manages the SVM UK100 Select Fund. Her sector responsibilities include UK telecoms, media & leisure, transport and general financials.

Neil has over 11 years experience of investment management. Prior to joining SVM, Neil was responsible for UK mid & small cap investments at Dutch merchant bank, Kempen Capital Management. As well as managing the UK portfolios, Neil also managed European mandates. Neil holds a BA (Hons) in Economics, a MSc in Investment Management and is qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). His sector responsibilities include European industrials, technology, oil and gas E&P and UK support services & house builders.

Hugh has over 13 years investment management experience managing both pan European and global equity portfolios. Prior to joining SVM, he spent 5 years with Kempen Capital Management, a Dutch merchant bank, where he was responsible for the management of over €500m of European equities including the Orange European Mid and Small Cap funds as well as institutional mandates. In addition he held geographical responsibility for the Nordic region. Hugh has a BA (Commendation) in Public Administration and holds the ASIP. His sector responsibilities include oil services, healthcare, telecoms (ex-UK) and banks and insurance.

Hector joined SVM having worked as a senior member of the European equities team at Standard Life Investments. He is an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals. Hector holds a MBA in Strategic Management and a MSc in Aquatic Resource Management. Hector manages the SVM UK Alpha Fund and is responsible for researching European pharmaceuticals, basic Industrials and UK support services.

David joined SVM as an investment analyst. David is currently working towards the Chartered Financial Analyst program. He has a MA (Hons) in Economics and Accounting from Edinburgh University. David's sector responsibilities include pan European financials and UK utilities.

Craig Jeruzal - Sociallly Responsible & Corporate Governance Analyst

Prior to joining SVM Craig was senior analyst responsible for all SRI research at Kempen Capital Management, where he worked with Hugh Cuthbert and Neil Veitch on the Orange Sense Fund for three years.His responsibilities include the research, engagement and scoring of all potential investments for the SVM All Europe SRI Fund.Craig holds a MA (Hons) Politics, Edinburgh University and the Investment Management Certificate.
